isobella grace vassey was born on august tenth nineteen ninety to robert vassey and lila (morgan) vassey in mystic falls, virgina. bella would be the oldest of three girls, born on the same day in consecutive years. just as she was the oldest, naturally bella would become the leader of the three vassey girls. she always orchestrated what the girls did as children up until a life changing event caused her major heart break. robert was killed in a car accident when she was nine years old. it was hard on all of the girls, but especially the baby gabrielle. bella worried for her sister but never tried to force her to talk as gabrielle went on a talking hiatus for two years straight. instead, bella spent time outside in the woods, connecting with nature. their father had always loved being in the woods so she thought it would be a good way for her to connect with him and see if he would speak to her. during the two years gabrielle didn't speak, bella started to see the family fall apart a little. she hoped gabrielle would speak soon because she loved her family and didn't know what would happen if they fell apart. finally gabrielle started talking again when bella was eleven. all three vassey girls discovered that they were gifted musicians after that and began to sing together. bella wasn't much of a songwriter. she left that up to gabrielle. when she turned fifteen, bella discovered that she was a witch having received the supernatural gene from her father's family. robert had been a warlock himself. since bella was the oldest, naturally she got the gene first. then the other two received it on their fifteenth birthdays as well. once gabrielle had her powers, the girls trained together using notes left for them by their father. it is bella's goal to be a witch exactly like her grandmother, everleigh vassey and all of the vassey's who had it before. now bella is twenty years old and still living in mystic falls. she is a college sophomore. as far as her powers go, she has pretty much mastered them and still tries to help her sisters when in need. bella also has a boyfriend that she loves very much and they plan on getting married very very soon since they've been together since they were sophomores in high school.
