The lilies were strong and fresh as Gabrielle held them in her hands. She got out of the car and shut the door looking out over the cemetery. Every week she looked at this scene. Every week she paid a visit to someone special out here. Her father. She missed Robert very much. He was the best father a girl could ask for. He understood her. They had a lot in common. They were the last born child in their families, they felt overshadowed by their older siblings. Gabrielle took a deep breath and started walking towards the back of the cemetery where she knew her father's grave rested.
When she got there she slowed and turned to face the tombstone. "Hi Daddy," she said and knelt down slowly. "I brought you some new lilies." She took the old group out of the holder and put the new ones in. "There we go." She felt a tear come to her eye and sniffled, trying to hold it back. "I miss you Daddy. I know Hanna and Bella don't come out as much as they should but they miss you too. Momma's been having a hard time. I think it's really starting to sink in." Gabrielle touched the tombstone. "I hope you're happy in heaven. I love you so much." The tears came quicker and she couldn't stop them. Gabrielle just let them flow naturally down her face without breaking down completely. The sun was just about set over the trees in the distance.
